Richard is a physician and entrepreneur, with over 20 years experience in the international pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. He is a business-builder with a track record of successfully raising new capital, building great teams, and delivering on the development and commercialisation of new pharmaceutical treatments.
Richard served as Chief Executive of ASX-listed Acrux Limited until 2012. Under his leadership Acrux gained FDA approval for three drug products and concluded the largest product licensing deal in the history of the Australian biotech industry. He is currently the Chairman of ASX-listed Neuren Pharmaceuticals, Chairman of Biotech Capital, a Non-executive Director of Hatchtech and a member of the Victorian Biotechnology Advisory Committee. He has an extensive global network comprising pharm-bio executives, private and institutional investors, policy makers and the business media.
In 2010 Richard was the winner of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur-of-the-Year (Southern Region) in the Listed Company Category and in subsequent years has continued to serve on the judging panel.
