February 2017 Luncheon

Guest Speaker:       Kevin Manderson – Cyber Security Specialist

Topic:                        What happens to me and my business when I click on a dodgy email

Kevin commenced his career in Defence communications and computers in the 1970s. Since then he has worked for software companies, multinationals, founded his own business, sold two start-ups, lectured at the University of Tasmania, worked for Hydro Tasmania as an IT Auditor and Manager of the SCADA and Security team. Currently he is responsible for Incident Response and Threat Intelligence at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence in Melbourne.

In Kevin’s spare time he conducts information security research in network forensics, tends a fruit and vegetable garden and is restoring an 1830s stone house in Hobart CBD with his wife.

At our lunch Kevin will elaborate on phishing and malware showing how they can slip by even the best of us, the associated risks and what it takes to cleanup and recover form a larger infection
