Tony’s career has spanned almost 40 years in various roles throughout Australia and overseas, across industry & commerce, education, insurance, government relations, advocacy, property & the media.
From 2004-14, Tony led the Urban Development Industry Association to become the pre-eminent voice in the Victorian property industry. As Executive Director, he has overseen the growth of the UDIA(Vic) from a two person secretariat to 10 staff; from approx. 150 to a 300 (+) member organisations; with annual budgets in excess of $3M. Tony is a regular media commentator on property planning, development and sustainability issues in Victoria. He also plays a key leadership role across the UDIA (Aust), particularly during annual national congresses.
Tony was also Deputy Chancellor at LaTrobe University, acting as Chair of the Infrastructure & Estates Planning Committee and Deputy Chair of the Corporate Governance and Audit Committee.
Reinforcing his life-long interest in multi-cultural affairs, Tony is also President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
His earlier career spanned senior leadership roles, in particular as Deputy Chief Minister with the ACT Government where Tony had responsibility for Industrial Relations, Economic Development and Regulatory Reform, and with AUSTRADE, the Insurance Council of Australia and the State/Territory public sectors.
